SEEDY  SUNDAY
Seedy Sunday has been introduced for a number of reasons:-

Many crop varieties have become extinct over the last 150 years, the large seed companies are introducing more and more hybreds (F1) seeds, which do not come true from home grown seed, meaning we the growers have to go back to them year after year.

Seedy Sunday will allow fellow gardeners to share seeds, exchange ideas, planting plans, ideas for growing mediums and much much more.

Everyone is welcome, even if you do not have any seeds, we want to also encourage and promote social diversity so that people of all ages and backgrounds can meet and chat - you know gardeners!!!

Increase the diodiversity of your plot by growing seeds saved by fellow gardeners and allotmenteers, seeds are fundamental to life and we must treasure the varieties we have left. Some varieties you may not normally be able to buy will be available. Because bureaucrats insist that all seeds sold must be registered we have lost may varieties and another reason that seed can be so expensive. You will be asked for a donation!!!

I, for one, have several part used and unopened seed packets which I will never use before the seed becomes unviable. If you are like me, why not bring your surplus packets along and share them  you may find something you wish to try, have always wanted to try or never seen before!!!

We have also had several very generous donations from the commercial companies, so not all seed will be home saved.

Bring a packet and exchange it for something different, do not worry if do not have any seeds to swap - a small donation will be asked for (50p per packet has been suggested - we hope you think this is OK!!)
